Europe in Calvià, Marie





It has been two months since I am on this beautiful Spanish island. It is a life filled with adventure, evolution, learning, personal growth and incredible people, but also filled with uncertainty, fears and doubts. We are 4 volunteers: Anita from Hungary, Steven and Michele from Italia and me from France.







My favorite moment during my week: I really like having the opportunity to spend all my Wednesday mornings with children in the age of a few months to 3 years. These days are adorably endearing, filled with joy and so much fun.


This was my first Christmas away from family; it was very strange but enriching being able to immerse myself during an evening with Manon's family. It was a fireside evening with this welcoming family. 28 December: I took the plane to France to be able to meet my family and my friends for 6 days. I resumed volunteering here in the 3rd of January with the heart full of love. Here and now begins a new year.

Hi! This past month I have not written blog because I went to Christmas to Spain and I have not spent much time here. At the beginning of December I was able to visit the Christmas tree that they put next to the cathedral every year, next to a small Christmas market where I bought a couple of things to give to my family. Now in January I have returned, and in the kindergarten there have been two news volunteer girls, from another organization, who come to spend with us 6 weeks, they are from Hungary and Ukraine, they are very nice, and another new volunteer girl has also come from Turkey but she is from my organization, and lives with me, and will be with us all year. These days in the kindergarten we have done some activities since we are quite a few volunteers, for example we have made bracelets with colored threads, we have made origami forms with colored papers, etc. and I wanted to show them a Mallorcan tradition that is celebrated on January 16, wher...

Arrival Training en Kokkola (Finlandia).

¡Hola, majos! En esta entrada os quiero hablar de mi experiencia en mi Arrival Training . Si estáis haciendo un Servicio de Voluntariado Europeo, o como se conoce ahora, Cuerpo de Solidaridad Europeo, una de vuestras actividades durante vuestro proyecto es la del Arrival Training , la formación de llegada. Consiste en que a todas las personas que llevan menos de 3 meses realizando su proyecto de voluntariado en el país donde lo realizan se reúnen para tratar los derechos y deberes del voluntario. Mediante actividades dinámicas, juegos y hasta alguna clase de Finlandés en mi caso, conocemos la importancia de ser un voluntario europeo y la forma de poder aprovechar la oportunidad. Personalmente, creo que también es una forma muy útil de conocer a personas que están en la misma situación que tú y que, incluso si echas de menos personas de tu país, también es probable que encuentres alguna. ¡Hola, guapos y guapas! I hope that your last month was as nice as mine and that you are enjoying reading our blog and participating a bit in our Mallorca life! January has been full of emotions. I am going to tell you some highlights in a very short way. My 2019 started at high speed: in my free time I continued visiting around both the island and the peninsula. Madrid has been a discovery because I didn't expect at all that it's such a fascinating city. I will go back there for sure! I also took the chance of exploring the neighborhood that let me change my mind again about Mallorca: it's even more wonderful than I already thought. This island has so many different landscapes and views, so nice pueblitos and so friendly people.
