Arrival training week, Delia

Imatge
Hola, ¿qué tal? Here I am again telling you about my second mounth of EVS in Calvià. If it is possible, I feel even luckier because the “On arrival training week” has just finished and I can try to send you all the positive vibes it gave me. I couldn't imagine my volunteering experience being more exciting than what it already was: I mean, I lived in an amazing place, I woke up every morning full of energy for my work at the elderly centre, I spent my free time visiting my lovely people... what else? El curso de formación a la llegada ! It has really been the 'spice' of this volunteering project. I felt so many emotions that it's going to be very hard giving them an order. First of all: can you try to think about a training? Can you picture how it would be a whole week of learning activities squeezed in 8 hours per day? Perfect, now just delete everything! Yes, because I have never learnt so many things in a such enjoyable and amusing way. Thanks ...

Mis trabajos en juventud, William

¡Hola!

First month in Mallorca, Levan

Imatge
First month is over, full of sun and feelings of everything being new. With sun I mean lots of light, so bright that it makes you think you are getting blind. When there is no more room for colors, there are just Mediterranean white, silhouettes of palms and olives. And the smell, of course - seaside; crowdie weekends full of tourists – last waves of the season. Now I’m introduced in all parts of the project, with all these supportive people helping me through first times of language barriers, introducing systems, communication and helping me to do my passion: design!                                            El Toro beach-taken before we participated in a beachcleaning event.                                                    ...

First days in my EVS experience, Anna

Imatge
Hello everyone, First month of Mallorca life behind! Towards the end of October the beach life has changed into a raincoat and wet shoes but the experience keeps growing. I started my volunteering time with several projects including Finca Galatzó, Perrera municipal and Escoleta Santa Ponsa. So far my projects have offered me everything I wanted from my experience: animals, archaeological sites, historical buildings and a possibility to observe a behaviour of a previously unknown group of tiny people. And because one can always do a bit more, in November we start with one more project when our 'Snack & Languages' sessions start in the CUC. Our team, accompanied by some crispy crunchy chocolate cookies, is waiting for YOU. Welcome! Besides the beginning of our projects, the first weeks included a lot of learning, joy, observing, misunderstandings ('Why no one told me that money is not plata in Spain?!'), redoing stuff, happiness, redoing the same stuff again...

Mis primeros días en la isla, William

Imatge
¡Hola!

Be part of 'Europe In Calvià II', Delia

¡Hola, guapos! This is my second week in Calvià as a part of the EVS project 'Europe in Calvià II' and I already think that I would like to stay here forever. So many things to tell... about the island, the people, the project, the environment, the apartment, the Spanish life! Let's go through it. As soon as we arrived at the airport I met our tutor, Manon. I knew that she would be mothering us in a way. She has been patiently available for all these days, indeed, to answer all our questions (lots and lots of questions) and she also has been always ready to help us or to solve any kind of problem we had in the first period. We met all the staff of the CUC (Centre Universitari de Calvià) as well and they were all so sweet treating us, from the beginning, as members of their big family. All the stunning views of the island helped us to fall immediatly in love with its every single spot. We live in a very nice apartment in Palmanova equipped with all ...

Hi, I'm Levan. Today I start my EVS in Mallorca!

Imatge
Hello everyone! I am Levan Shanidze, a 23-year-old coming from Tbilisi, Georgia. As my flight day comes day-by-day, I’m slowly getting this alert-feeling of being alive. It’s always nice to change environment, get experience for a while, from another culture, language; it's nice to have expectations – all these googled images, maps, tips - low-key obscureness of what it might look like and knowing that when departure day arrives all will be clear. I’m glad I’m having a part in this project. When I first found out EVS and read the project’s description, I thought it might be a full-combo of matching my interests with it. To introduce myself more: my educational background is Philosophy. It’s been more than one year after my BA graduation; after this, because of practical aspects, I have decided to change my profile and worked as a graphic designer. Also, I have a great interest in electronic music production, time-to-time I’m playing live performances at my hometown,...
